The Rotted

Camden Underworld, London
Dripback come on stage five-minutes late but in a blistering typhoon of punk/grind, they rip up the stage and begin the night with a bang.  The quintet seem to enjoy their stage time together and collectively destroy the eardrums of the near 100 people in attendance on this warm winter night.  Dripback are a band on the rise and name to remember.  A performance to remember, and one to keep an eye on in the future.

The Rotted
continues the Punk/Grind dominance on tap tonight.  Their gore infused lyrics and cockney attitude makes them a band to watch live, and prepare a perfect set up to the evening’s main performer.  They blister through their extensive back catalogue which also includes songs from when they were still collectively called Gorerotted.  Nonetheless the crowd has reached the boiling point and seem to have one thing on their mind.

Lock Up comes in with a heavy cross on their back.  Between the four members there's almost 50 records between them in their respective careers.  Thomas ‘Tompa’ Lindberg pulverises the near sell-out crowd with his distinct guttural vomit and the blasting of Nicholas Barker – who up until 2 days ago was in hospital with pneumonia – serves up a hefty anti-Christmas offering of pure, non-stop Grindcore.  The crowd break into a mosh pit mid-way through the set, and the hair-whipping commences one last time before the New Year dawns upon us.  A great last gig of the year for the extreme metal faithful.
