1. Worldfall
2. Depravity
3. Solitary Voyage
4. Rose Clouds Of Holocaust
5. IV
Serving as a stop-gag EP released after the wondrous psychedelic charms of the immense 'Assassins' album, 'Worldfall' is yet another reminder of why Nachtmystium might just be the most underrated black metal act in the world right now. Opening with a progressively stunning title track before launching into the brutally, tremolo-worshipping 'Depravity', the Illinois quartet showcase their impressive diversity effortlessly in barely 11 minutes of music.
'Solitary Voyage' returns back to more anthemic, melodious territories before two covers round things off nicely. Death In June's 'Rose Clouds Of Holocaust' and Goatsnake's 'IV' are both allowed the rare courtesy of clean vocals, and while the restrained melancholy of 'Rose Clouds...' makes it the superior version, the doomy stomp of the final track of the EP still packs its own gloomy punch. Quite frankly, Nachtmystium's next release can't come soon enough.
