Deeds Of The Nameless
Deeds Of The Nameless – Enemy Within / Far & Away

Some promising stuff from this young North London four-piece. While certainly not amassing to the sum of their influences (a list which, according to the band themselves, includes Nirvana, The Beatles, Queen and The Beach Boys), there is an undeniable charm about the restrained and composed energy which oozes out of Deeds Of The Nameless' leading single 'Enemy Within' – a tune bristling with infectious, indie-pop hooks. Sappy ballad 'Far & Away' is a less impressive affair, but saves face thanks to a guitar solo that just begs to be back in the 80s. And who doesn't love the 80s?
