Brooklyn based My Uncle The Wolf are a peculiar concoction. Through producing a barrage of noise that transpires as one thing and morphs into another, at the pace of rapacious coyote - they’ve accomplished an album of immense character.

'Flush' begins as a bluesy rock number, but just as it all sounds all too familiar, it pricks up the ears and progresses into something staggeringly different to what you’d expect.

Whether you‘re frowning with interest, trying to decipher the bizarre noises of ‘Grinning Hyena’, or realising that ‘The Devil is Tiny’ warps you to Aladdin’s market, hiding your hands as you travel amongst dust clouds, shifty snake charmers, menacing glances and exotic dancers hiding down sandy alleys - it all feels like falling down the White Rabbit's hole. The album incessantly conjures up images and creates a slew of  differing atmospheres; from the voluptuously insatiable riffs of ‘Moonshine’, to the militant beats of ‘Belly of the Night’, that take you off to some peregrine land.

Although it may be at times hard to follow, and maybe too much to chew - 'Flush' leaves you aghast and intrigued, and one listen simply isn‘t enough.
