When first popping in this record, the initial reaction is that you have been thrown into a time warp and taken back to the early 90’s. The music written by Insidious Disease is a throwback homage to the great powers of Entombed and Dismember. For fans hoping this star studded line-up of Marc Grewe (ex-Morgoth), Silenoz (Dimmu Borgir), Jardar (Old Man’s Child), Shane Embury (Napalm Death) and Tony Laureano (Nile) are here to offer a fresh take on death metal please look for another record to enjoy. ‘Shadowcast’ was bred on the hope to rekindle the spirit of great slow pounding musicianship which has been lost and forgotten.

With the return of Marc Grewe we're treated to a wonderfully written lyrical concept which can be enjoyed throughout the album. Picking one song to dissect isn’t an easy task as the majority of this album reeks of well played death metal. Fans lucky enough to pick up the limited edition will also have the pleasure to listening to a cover of Death’s masterpiece ‘Leprosy’. Downtuned guitar playing shows that these maestros of black aren’t just one trick pony’s, and that their range of song writing is much greater than most give them credit for.

Hoping to see them live to cherish such a great collection of like minded individuals on one stage is more than enough reason to travel afar.
