| Breaking The Waves - Run, WALK! |
Guitar and drums? Piffle. The White Stripes did that, and they were shite. Drums and bass is where it’s at: Beehoover, Lightning Bolt, past Breaking The Waves covered The Fire and I and now the latest bass-end dynamic duo to join this illustrious party - the mighty Run, WALK!. Hailing from around the picturesque (i.e. boring) Hampshire town of Winchester, they comprise bass player Matt and drummer Tom, they’re influenced by Bloc Party, Rolo Tomassi and explosions. Their free ‘Peekay’ download (available here: http://runwalk.tumblr.com/peekay) is chaotic noise rock, like McClusky molesting Bear Vs. Shark , as per Tom’s description of “Noise. Fun. Love. Passion. A few beers. Stuff breaking. Lots more noise. Unintentional self harm. Tinnitus.” With a string of live shows under their belts, and a pressing desire to take their self-described death-drone to the masses, but don’t bring your girlfriend. “You’re going to have to deal with your girlfriend,” says Tom, “who will almost have definitely put her fingers in her ears and gone off to the bar in a huff, sorry.” And while you’re waiting for more live shows to be announced, purchase their records: http://runwalk.bandcamp.com/, follow them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/runwalk and Twitter on @runwalk. And get new speakers, cos your ones are gonna blow. ![]() Interviewed by Steve Jones Want to get your band into Breaking The Waves? Then email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
